If you know an individual, a small team of researchers, or an institution that would be a strong candidate for the Individual or Institutional Einstein Foundation Award, we encourage you to submit a recommendation. 

This informal recommendation is intended as an easy way to bring outstanding candidates to our attention — especially for those who may not have the time or resources to submit a full nomination. Based on your recommendation, we may follow up directly with the candidate or their institution to encourage or facilitate a formal nomination during the next call for entries.

Please note: A recommendation does not replace or gurantee a formal nomination. Full nominations can be submitted once the annual call for entries is open. 

Recommendations in the category Individual

Please send a short message to award@einsteinfoundation.de including the following information:

• your name and email adress
• name and email adress of the individual or team representative whose work has significantly strengthened the quality, transparency, and trustworthiness of research or scholarly practice, with demonstrable impact across their field or beyond
• a brief description of how the candidate has made meaningful contributions to strengthening the quality, openness, and credibility of research or scholarly practice. Highlight specific innovations, initiatives, or achievements, along with any demonstrable outcomes or broader impact. We encourage you to review the award objectives for a clearer understanding of the values and goals this award seeks to recognize

Recommendations in the category Institutional

Please send a short message to award@einsteinfoundation.de including the following information:

• your name and email adress
• name of the recommended institution, organization, or other entity that has shown outstanding leadership in advancing the conditions, structures, or cultures that support trustworthy, transparent, and impactful research or scholarly practice, with demonstrable contributions to strengthening research quality
• name and email adress of the institutional representative
• a brief description of how the candidate has made meaningful contributions to strengthening the quality, openness, and credibility of research or scholarly practice. Highlight specific innovations, initiatives, or achievements, along with any demonstrable outcomes or broader impact. We encourage you to review the award objectives for a clearer understanding of the values and goals this award seeks to recognize
