Prosper Ngabonziza

Prosper Ngabonziza is an Assistant Professor of Physics in the Department of Physics & Astronomy of the Louisiana State University. His research focuses on epitaxy of quantum materials and heterostructures. Dr Ngabonziza serves as Deputy Chair of the Executive Committee of the African light source Foundation - The African Light Source (AfLS) project. The AfLS project is working towards building a synchrotron light source on the African continent that will contribute significantly to the African science renaissance. He is a Fellow of the Rwanda Academy of Science and the Global Young Academy where he served as a Co-Chair in 2021/22. His outstanding master’s dissertation at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa was honoured in 2013 with the S2A3 Bronze Medal from the Southern Africa Association for the Advancement of Science.
