Jürgen Zöllner

Jürgen Zöllner serves as chair of the Board of Trustees of the Stiftung Charité. He was Professor of Physiological Chemistry at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. From 1991-2006 he was Minister of Education and Science in Rheinland-Pfalz. From 2006-2011 he was Senator for Science and Education (ret.) of the State of Berlin and served as Federal Council Commissioner in the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. 

He is a strong advocate for scientific excellence and was instrumental in the establishment of the Berlin Institute of Health (BIH) focusing on translational research and precision medicine as well as the Einstein Foundation.
